Coren Mino and Ron Palka-Román, piano

Coren Estrin Mino earned her degree in piano performance from The Cleveland Institute of Music where her  teacher was the late concert pianist, Eunice Podis. Before that time she studied with her late father, concert pianist Morton Estrin. Coren has performed throughout the Cleveland and Akron areas, often with her duo partner Ron Palka-Román, as the Double Digit Piano Duo. Their most recent performances were with The Cleveland Philharmonic as soloists in the rarely heard Piano Duet Concerto in C major, op. 153 by Carl Czerny (their video recording is available on YouTube). Coren has had a long association with the Cleveland Composer’s Guild, with composers creating pieces for her and for her students to perform in many recitals throughout greater Cleveland. Coren maintains an active teaching career in her studio in Avon Lake.

Ronald Palka-Román earned his Masters in piano performance from Manhattan School of Music and his MLS at Kent State University. He is on the faculty of the Oberlin Community Music School and is the Music Director at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Brook Park.

Ron is also a dedicated and active piano tuner and technician and operates his business at www.PalkaPiano.com. He is the secretary for the Northeastern Ohio Chapter of the Piano Technician’s Guild.

He is also pleased to perform as 1/2 the digits of The Double Digit Piano Duo with pianist Coren Estrin Mino.
