Michelle Chan
Michelle Chan was born in Macau SAR and moved to Cleveland, OH in 2022. She has been playing the cello since the age of 10 and joined the Macau Youth Symphony Orchestra (MYSO) in 2005. Michelle has toured with MYSO to Australia, Austria, Germany, Portugal, Italy, China, Japan etc. during 2007-2014.
In 2008, under the baton of its Music Director, Mr. Veiga Jardim and Mr. Martin Schebesta from the Vienna Opera House, the orchestra was chosen to participate at the “8th World Choral Festival Vienna Salzburg 2008”, becoming the first youth orchestra from China to perform with the Vienna Boys Choir at the Wiener Musikverein and the Salzburg Mozarteum.
Michelle earned a BA degree in arts management with a minor in music performance from The Ohio State University, where she was a cellist in The Ohio State University Symphony Orchestra during 2014-2016. She continued her passion in classical music and is currently a member of Parma Symphony Orchestra and Suburban Symphony Orchestra.
