Katie Morway

Katie has been a member of the Parma Symphony Orchestra for 24 years ever since high school orchestra director, Mrs. Musat, convinced her to check it out. At age five, she began taking piano lessons from her grandmother. Violin came later at John Glenn Elementary with teacher Mrs. Betz. Katie earned her B.S.Ed from Baldwin-Wallace inspired by many of her own teachers. At the first school she taught at, she started an after school club for strings that later developed into its own program alongside the band. Katie lives in Seven Hills with her husband, Paul, and three daughters, Audrey, Denny, and Madilyn. One of the family’s favorite activities is attending lawn concerts at Blossom in the summer. When she is not substitute teaching, Katie is reading, attending her kids’ activities, swimming, or playing board games. If you wonder where she is Monday nights, that’s easy. She is with her stand partner, Diane Homza-Dacek, and the rest of the Spectacular Seconds!
